Rayne is a village and civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, England. It lies about 2 miles west of Braintree on the A120 road. The settlement follows the line of the Roman road Stane Street between Colchester and Braughing. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 2,360, and the built up area had a population of 2,154.
